Big Day

Well, the day has come. Her first day at MDO! And... it wasn't too bad :)

Trying to get out the door was another story though! She was being a little fussy, I couldn't find my checkbook anywhere for the longest, her paci went MIA, and her shoe fell off and I didn't notice until I had her in the car so I had to search the house for it, which it was in her bed! SO, not quite what I had planned :)

So, we get there, and really, its not bothering me too much taking her, especially once I talked to the director and she was really nice and gave me her cell phone number. I took her into her class, and on Monday and Wednesdays there are only 3 other kids in the class, 2 boys and 2 girls. She went to the teacher no problem, then I sat her down by one of the toys and she and the other little girl were playing. Went over everything with the teacher, gave Aubrey a few too many kisses... and, then left. And, Aubrey could have cared less. Which, for her sake is good, but, a little emotion from her for my sake would have been nice! Just kidding :) There is a big window to the room that you can see in pretty much right when you walk in the building, so thats really nice. So I watched her for a little bit before I left, she was perfectly content playing. The director said they were about to go to music, I wish I could have watched! And they also have someone come in and show them sign language. The only thing I was really worried about was nap time. Come to find out, she fell asleep pretty fast, but only for 45 minutes! She usually sleeps for at least an hour and a half!! (she is sleeping right now, and its already been an hour!)
When I got home I made myself a cup of coffee and watched the Wendy Williams Show (if you don't know what it is.. you're better off!! lol!) Then the Bonnie Hunt Show! The sad thing is, I was really hoping TMZ was coming on!! haha! Classy tv watching right there huh?! :) Then, after all of that intellectual stimulation, I did a couple of loads of laundry, did the dishes, and went through a some of my parenting magazines and tore out articles I liked. I picked her up a little early, about 1:40ish. She was just playing. So, all in all, I feel good about it. Tomorrow is a different class with more kids and different teachers, I'm sure she will do just as well in there too :)
Now, I just need to get really organized and make sure I have everything packed for her bag, and clothes set out the night before! Yippee..

Looks like we both survived :)

Oh my goodness, I can't believe I almost forgot!!!
She took her first step today!!!!!
That's right! This morning while I was getting ready in the bathroom she followed me in there, she crawled up to my leg and stood up, then I stepped back and she stepped forward!! I got pretty excited! She did it once more... then, that's it. I'm going to practice with her some more today! I knew she'd be walking by October. You go girl!! She's getting so big!! :)

Sorry, no pictures! Maybe I'll get a video of her walking tonight!! :)

Sweet Kids

This past week my newphew, Collin, had his first T-Ball game... and, let me just say, watching a bunch of 3 & 4 years old play t-ball is quite entertaining! Some of those kids looked so small in their uniforms, it was so cute! And, there were about 10 coaches on the field "directing" the kids moves! At the end, I had no idea which team won?! haha.
                                                                                      How cute is that??

This past friday, Natalie and I along with the kiddos decided to try out this playgroup at Watermark, not quite what we were expecting, but.. we still had fun- allowed for a cute photo shoot! lol! :)
Always with those "looks"...

                                                                                                                Peek-a-Boo!

Aubrey has been standing without holding on to anything! She will even raise herself up and just stand there like a big girl! We've been working on her taking  a step.. but, she's not ready.. and, neither am I :(
Just kidding..

She's playing with one of her toys.. while standing, not holding on.. you go girl!
She'll be walking in NO TIME!!

(ugh, why can't the font stay the same?!)

In other news.. Aubrey will be starting Mothers Day Out on monday. I'm pretty much dreading it. At first I was totally ok with and was kinda glad that she would get some more kid interaction, but now, I'm just pretty nervous/sad about it. I mean, I have a good feeling about the place and they have been doing it for 35 years, so, I mean, that should say something right? I guess I'm just nervous about how things are really done. Obviously, no one will do take care of her like me or how I want exactly, and she will be in a completely new environment, although, I think she will probably do just fine, alot better than me I'm sure! But, I actually took Monday off that way I could be the one to drop her off and pick her up, since I will only be picking her up in the future. I have some work things I can do from home that day, so hopefully I get a couple hours worth of work in! I'm sure it won't be as hard as I'm making it out.. right?? :(
I'm sure Monday when I give an update on how it went I won't sound so depressed. She is a great baby and I know she will be excited to be around other kids and all the new toys!! And, I'm sure they will take great care of her!  :)

Ok, off to bed for me!

This and That

Thought it was high time for a new theme. Not sure if I love this one though. And, somehow I lost my background color and can't get it back...??? hmm.

I'm so happy fall is here! Its my favorite time of the year. And winter. :) I just love the weather and the colors and my birthday and Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday!, are in the fall, so bonuses! Its just great! In a couple of weeks Aubrey and I, well, mostly Aubrey, will be having a little photoshoot hopefully at the Arboretum in the pumpkins- gonna be super cute! Can't wait! Hopefully the weather will stay nice and cool so we can wear cute fall clothes :)

Today Aubrey had her 9 month check up! My little baby is 9 months- ahhh! She is getting so big so fast :( But, she is at a super fun age, so I guess its all good :)
I was all prepared for her to get shots today and when I get there they say "nope- she's all caught up!" Yay! I HATE watching her get poked. I can still remember the first time she got shots and the face she made, broke my heart. So, I was glad none today! After all her measurements the nurse tells me "Well, she's way above average on weight, height and head." uh-oh. But, then she goes on to say "But, its ok, because she's always been that way." LOL. Poor baby. :) She is 22 1/2 lbs and 29 inches!! I was actually thinking her weight would have been more, but, good thing it wasn't or we might have gotten in trouble! haha. She is still in the 95th percentile (which means, if there were 100 babies she would be bigger than 95 of them!), which on her chart she is staying consistent for her growth. Even though she is above average she is still not really overweight because, really, she's always been.. so, that's just her. Although, I was looking back at some 4th of July pics, and I really think she has thinned out ALOT. Which, is a little funny since she really isn't very thin :) She must have really grown alot taller or something... or maybe she's just getting some exercise now that she's crawling and starting to walk! Those 4th pics that poor baby just looks like a blob. A really cute blob though ;)
Oh man, before I know it will be her FIRST birthday!!!
I'm pretty sure I will cry...

Oh, she has also learned how to click her tongue and vibrate her lips while blowing them.. you know what I'm talking about?? lol- bad descriptions, sorry!! Oh, and clap! Its pretty cute :)
And, I'm pretty sure she will be walking sometime in October! She moves really good and fast along the furniture and will reach out to the non connecting pieces  to keep going, and she really likes her walker!
I'm pretty sure I will cry when she takes her first step...

(am I emotional or what?!) :)

OH! I think I have found her a Mother's Day Out! And she can go 4 days a week, so, thats good. I will be getting all the hours that I need her watched for like a fraction of the cost of a daycare! I feel really comfortable with the teachers she will have (they are a little older which I like, they seem like they really care about the babies and want to be there!) The only real bummer though, is that I probably won't ever get to take her, only pick her up. I know, "what's the big deal?" well.. it is. Since I go into work sooo early my mom will drop her off and then I will pick her up.. But, I won't be there in the mornings to tell them everything they need to know, and see how she reacts and all that... :( I know my mom will tell the teachers everything and she can tell me how she reacts.. but, its not the same. ..Sigh... BUT, I think this place will be a good blessing, so I just need to focus on that :) I think she will be starting the first of October!

On to pictures!

Her typical self :)

Probably, our best picture to date!

Not sure why, but, I LOVE this picture!

Can't get enough
of that giggle!
Aubrey not cooperating- as usual :)

Thought I'd
change it up with
the B&W!

So badly wish this wasn't blurry- love how happy she looks!!
                                                                                                                      My Sweetie Girl

Ok, is any one else's picture function different?? Not sure if I love it..??

Hope everyone is having a good week! :)

OH BABY!!

  He's Here!
 Caden Lee Dunn
5 lbs 8 oz  18 inches
2:22 pm

I'm so excited for Brent and Jenny, little Caden is just adorable! And TINY!! Ok, so let me tell you how this little sweetie made his arrival (besides the obvious! lol!!)
Tuesday morning Jenny had her normal appt. and she has been having trouble with her blood pressure, so, at the appt. they thought it was too high and decided on induction. She's admitted. Wednesday morning, bright and early at 5:00 am they start inducing her (at her appt, she was already at 3 cm!) so, I periodically check in to see when I should come out there (since I was going to have Aubrey with me) after her water broker she hit 4 1/2 pretty fast... then 5 when I was on my way about 1:30ish, a 6 when I was about 10 minutes away. So, I was thinking "yay, this is going pretty quick!" Get to the hospital, talk to her for about 15 minutes when the nurses come in to check her. She was showing contractions, and she complained of a little pain in her side.. ok. Well, as we are walking out of the room for the nurse to check, ya know, hoping a 7 or 8 maybe... well, "Get the Dr. I can see the head!" What?! Wasn't she just a 6??? So, me, her sis, mom and MIL stand outside the door and were like "Surely not...??" after about 2 minutes we hear a faint noise, me and Paula look at each other like "was that a cry??" then we hear him screaming! We were in shock! I swear, that was the quickest delivery I have ever heard of!! Soo... come to find out, this kid was totally crowing and she had no idea (remember the pain in her side?) when the nurse went to put her leg in the stirrup his head popped out! The dr said "whoa.. hold on! gotta get situated!" so then the nurse put her leg up again, and out he came! NOT ONE PUSH!!! (yes, I am bitter.) I mean, seriously, how does that happen???? Although, Aubrey did have almost 3 pounds on him.. but, still! :)
Needless to say, Jenny is doing just fine. ha. And so it little Caden- not a single thing wrong! (He was 3 weeks early) And boy can he eat! He latched on right away and had two 40 minute feedings within the first few hours! you go boy! :)
He is so tiny and so sweet. I just can't get over how little his face is- its crazy! He looks pretty much just like his dad!! But, with his mommas lips!
He's a keeper!

The proud momma
Baby & Daddy
Happy Family

Aubrey fell asleep... for a good 20 minutes. yay. :)
I tried showing Caden to her, she wasn't interested. But, I was!
The girls with little Caden!
Just Precious!
I can't wait to go see him again.. although, I don't know what to do with such a little guy?! haha, jk :)

Oh.. and, I am happy that Jenny had an easy and uncomplicated delivery.
I promise. :)

Ready.. Set.. WALK!

Aubrey has been using one of Collin's little chairs to walk herself around the house, but, the chair is not the most stable of choices, so, after a little comparison shopping today, Little Miss has a new walker! And boy was she excited about it! She was squealing, well, like a little girl! The whole time I was putting it together (with the help of Robert and Sarah- this thing was quite confusing!) she kept grabbing the pieces and getting really frustrated that is wasn't ready! She almost fell over screaming when I put her up to it- too cute :) At first she just stood there screaming, then she finally realized that she could move with it- and off she went!!
She'll be walking in no time.. :)
Also, later, it turns into a little scooter bike! bonus!
She was just being cute while eating, so, thought I'd snap a few :)
AND. she is finally getting a hang of that sippy cup!!
I got another one too, and she is doing good with it also! yay!
And... just thought these were sweet. (I'm sure someone is looking at this and freaking out- "A bumper, toys, blankets AND a pillow?!?!?" haha.. she likes it! But, don't worry, I take the pillow out when I go to bed!) :)
Speaking of sleeping.. she is doing so much better! Which actually, having my pillow in the bed with her helps. I guess she can smell me on it?? lol. She still fusses a little, but I just go in there hug on her while she still in her bed and "shhh.." then lay her back down, usually it only takes 1-2 times, then she's out.
Slowly but surely, we're making progress :)

Well, there's that.
Later! :)

Success(ish)

So, tonight was, technically, the second night in a row!, that Aubrey fell asleep in her bed! Without having to lay in my bed for about 30 minutes! YAY!! Which is so crazy, because I used to be able to put her in her bed, wide awake, and within 10 minutes she was totally passed out!! What happened?!? Hopefully this will continue on! Although, as hard as it is on her to not lay down with me, its just as hard on me. I love snuggling up with her and having her fall asleep resting on me. BUT, I think it makes it hard on her when she's at her dad's, and when anyone else tries to put her to bed (if I'm not home for some reason), and if she goes somewhere else to be watched...
Keep your fingers crossed for some smooth bedtimes! :)

Also something else Aubrey has oh-so-kindly let me know: She does NOT want to be spoon fed! Well, only yogurt and sweet potatoes! Anything else is a no-go. She will turn her head every direction to avoid that spoon! I really thought I was on to something with these new Graduates Sides, the sweet potatoes actually look like sweet potatoes and not just liquid. So, I thought she would be all over that, nope!
Girl..!!!!

OH!! If anyone, or anyone you know of, is interested in keeping this oh-so-sweet baby girl in the mornings- well, that would just be fantastic!! My current babysitter will be leaving me by the end of the month. So.. PLEASE PLEASE let me know!!! :)
(I promise.. she really is an oh-so-sweet baby! I mean, you've seen the pictures!) :)

Speaking of pictures, here are just a very few from our little play date with Natalie and Lola today (I am about 99% sure that Natalie has some good ones of Aubrey- we tend to take pics of our opposite children! haha)

Um, this is the best shot I got of her.. I will have to steal Natalie's! :)
Sweet Momma/Daughter moments

This is what the girls were doing as we were checking out some blogs and  Windows Live Writer (which, I want SO bad, dang Macs.. ) Please take note of all the DVDs all over the place, and any other mess... thank you Aubrey :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!! :)

A Post in Picture Form

Don't feel like writing much.. so, this is what ya get. Which, I'm sure is preferred anyway :)

Just a random photo shoot in the backyard, she's so sweet ;)
That afternoon.. just rocking her to sleep. I love it when she's all cuddly.
The other day I thought I would take me and her for a little walk around the pond..at 3 in the afternoon. I will not be doing that again (at that time!). She of course fell asleep on the way home, but I had poured a little water on her to cool her down so she took a nap all natural.
I just thought it was cute how she was sleeping. :)
So, this was from last night. This girl is seriously crazy! She threw a BIG fit when I put her in her bed for the night, instead of laying in bed with her to get her to sleep. she was not happy. Well, she finally fell asleep in a normal position.. but, when I came back later this is what I found! Take a good look at that position...
How can she sleep like that!? Silly, silly!
These are just some fun bath time pictures from today.
This bath was needed in the middle of the day because I came home from work and found her with her hair like this. What is in it, I have no idea..

She is either sucking on her towel, her duck, or trying to "pick" up the water to drink it. Yet, she won't drink water out of her cup.. go figure!
Aunt Emmy's Mini-Me!!
(will this child ever look like her mother???)
Good action shot! haha.
All squeaky-clean! :)
Just sitting in the car waiting for her daddy to come pick her up.
I love that her lips look so full- jealous! lol!
The End.
:)
