boy!!!!!
I had a feeling for a while it would be a boy, my only thought that it might be a girl is that the heart rate was “high” (ya know, bc old wives tales are so reliable) (even had a dream a few nights before about the reveal party and that it was a boy!) but, at the sono appt the heart rate had dropped quite a bit! So, maybe those old wives were right ;)
We decided to have a gender reveal party. Really, it was more Philip’s wanting than mine, I just wanted to find out right then and there! :) But, I’m glad we had the party, it was fun! We decided to go with the silly string and had Natalie be in charge of bring the right color, we didn’t talk too much during the party- needed her to keep her poker face! :)
The party was mostly family with a few friends. It was nice to just have everyone here and hang for a bit.
Didn’t go overboard with the food or decorations. Just kept it simple and casual- the way I like most things ;)
To begin the day:
As we were getting ready for our appt at 12:30, around 10ish I get a call from the office saying that there were 2 births going on that day and they would need to reschedule my sono! I almost started crying. I told the lady that we were having a reveal party that night, so she said she’d see what she could do and call me back. Called back and said to be there at 11! Woohoo! I was excited to have Aubrey be there and hear the heartbeat and see the baby on the “tv”. She was pretty interested in the heartbeat (and the midwife even let Aubrey hear her own).. but, she wasn’t so interested in seeing the baby, according to her, it didn’t look like a baby ;)
Since the normal rooms where there sono would have taken place were occupied, the sono was set up in the family waiting area! haha.
The baby was moving around quite a bit, moving his little arms and legs all around…could have watched that for hours!
After our appt we went to Twisted Root for a yummy lunch (and to help keep our minds off the magic envelope!)
Then we ran a million errands and then came home to get ready.. and I just wanted to take a nap.
Party time!
Cute onesie from Aunt Emmy :)
The secret silly string!
The voting station- place a hair bow or hot wheel in the matching bowl :)
As FB and IG also showed, the party heavily leaned toward boy!
Getting ready to find out!!
Poor Aubrey had a hard time getting hers to spray, momma to the rescue :)
Then it was a free for all! :)
Trying to figure out how exactly the sono “proves” a boy! Ha! Still not sure if anyone really knows.
YAY for adding a boy to our family!! Can’t wait to meet and love on this lil guy!
