married life.

well, its been about 3.5 weeks since the big day, and let me tell ya, its been great! my biggest “concern” about getting married and moving in together was all the change that would come with that. meshing our habits and how we like things, the need for space (for me), how aubrey would do… i don’t know why i was so worried, bc there really haven’t been any issues! i was just telling philip last night that i couldn’t believe that it has only been 3 weeks bc it feels like we’ve already been married forever (in a good way!) it just feels very natural. but, that shouldn’t really be a surprise to us since we felt the same way when we first started dating ;)

(wow, this is sounding pretty mushy! haha)

aubrey has done very well with the whole transition. we came back from our mini honeymoon on monday, packed up and moved aubreys stuff to the married house. she was all good until bed time and then started getting a little confused. kept saying she wanted to go home, so i had to keep explaining to her this is our home now. all of our talks pre-marriage apparently didn’t stick as much as i thought they had. but, she still went down for bed easy and i don’t think she even got up at all. even now she still says things about this being our new house, and “is this where we live?” stuff like that.. but, she hasn’t acted out, thrown fits, or anything like that- so praise the Lord! she has only asked to sleep with me a couple of times, and when i remind her of where everyone sleeps now she seems pretty ok with it. she thankfully hasn’t acted out against philip, and really their relationship has gotten much closer. she now asks for philip to read her stories at night, she’ll go to him for things, loves to play with him, respects him- makes my heart so happy :)

our house is slowly but surely coming together. actually, for the most part im really pleased with it. there’s just a few minor things we need to do/get, but really the rest is just decorating and organizing- which the latter seems like will never happen! just as soon as i get a space cleaned and in order, more stuff comes here from my moms and I’m back to square one! its like the stuff is never ending. i just want to get rid of it all. which, i am partly doing. just no need for most of it. the converted garage is what is stressing me out! its become the catch all room, and since its sooo big, its just gotten out of control. with the garage sale last weekend it helped clear the clutter some, and im putting all my left over stuff in another garage sale this weekend, and if anything is left over from that- goodwill!! it is not coming back into this house! haha. really, i just need some shelf units for in there so i can, wait for it, organize!! i have furniture out there already, so it’s a very usable space. and since im hosting pokeno this month, and aubrey’s party will be here in a few weeks, that room will be put together! :) now i just need my wedding pictures to come in so i hang some on my bare walls ;)

im cooking!! figured that needed some recognition. haven’t ventured out to anything too fancy yet, but im making progress and am very proud of myself ;) my goal is to make 1-2 things that ive pinned from pinterest a week. i'll be printing some off any making a grocery list tonight :)

overall, married life is even better than i had pictured it to be. so happy to have a husband, to be a wife, and to have our own little family.. which i can’t wait to grow ;)

life is good.
